Pattaya nights beyond Walking Street: lounges, live music and community

Walking Street is Pattaya’s best-known nightlife area, but it is far from the only way to spend an evening in the city. If you prefer live music, conversation and a more relaxed atmosphere, there are plenty of alternatives.

Why Walking Street is not for everyone

Pattaya’s main nightlife street is loud, bright and highly tourist-focused. Some visitors enjoy exactly that, but for long-term residents or anyone looking for a quieter night, smaller bars, lounges and community spaces can be a better fit.

Lounges and relaxed bars

Areas such as Pratumnak and Jomtien have smaller venues where it is easier to talk, listen to music and spend time with friends. These places are often valued more for their atmosphere and regular community than for large-scale entertainment.

Live music and open mics

Pattaya has regular performances by local musicians, DJ sets and open-mic nights. At HempBuddy Lounge, live music takes place every Sunday →, with local performers, DJs, an open mic and free entry.

Gaming zones

A night out does not have to mean clubs or drinking. Some lounges also offer games and casual social spaces. HempBuddy has a PS5 gaming zone → with a sofa, air conditioning and games for friends.

Thai and expat community

Some of Pattaya’s most enjoyable venues are built around regular guests. They make it easier to meet locals, expats and people who actually live in the city rather than only visiting for a few days.

In short

If Walking Street is not your style, try smaller lounges, live music, gaming spaces and local communities. See upcoming HempBuddy music nights → or book a table →
